Beginnings

Well, I can't promise how often I'll post here -- I'm new to this. But I thought I'd celebrate 11 months of knitting by trying something new.

So, things I'm working on -- a pair of fingerless mitts for a friend, an afghan for my mother, washcloths for a charity I'm starting up. Nothing huge or exciting, but then I like doing small things. Suits the quick gratification need that I've got!

On
Ravelry, I'm Beth123B. I'm in about 21 groups, including one I started, called Peace Work. It's a charity knitting/crocheting group for people who are interested in creating a bit of peace through their fiber creations.

In real life, I'm a stay-at-home fibromyalgic, who takes care of our animals. My partner is a veterinarian, so needless to say, we have a menagerie. The largest part of the menagerie is the ferrets -- we're hobby breeders. Check out our website --
Ravensnest Ferrets. We've also got 3 cats and 5 dogs -- 4 Great Danes and a Papillion.

That's the bare facts about me -- if I remember to post more, I'm sure you'll learn more.

Howdy! This is Chrissy (itschrissyknits) from Ravelry, melaswell and I'll be sending you some A Fresh Start facecloths shortly! (Which I've actually posted about on my art blog! http://meincrafthaus.wordpress.com/2008/10/13/washcloths-for-peace/)

Just took a quick looksy at your blog, and I'm sad to see that you're a fibromyalgic! Even though I'm in my mid-twenties, I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia last year. Thankfully it's something I've been able to control with lifestyle changes (like learning how to de-stress and sleep better), but it does come back for a bit when I'm not careful. It seems like there are many things that can trigger fibromyalgia though. If you don't mind my asking, what is your fibromyalgia story? You can always send me a message if you don't want to publicly reply!

I'm a "go to work" fibromyalgic ... recently diagnosed ... and miserable. Just wondering what, if anything, works for you? Feel free to PM on Rav - boadiccea. Thanks.

Chrissy, thanks for the shout-out. I really appreciate it. Sorry this has taken so long -- I'm not an every day blogger, and things have been insane around here, so I haven't taken the time.

I'll try to post about it.
